Biography
Luca is a doctoral student in the Sport, Exercise, and Performance Psychology program at West Virginia University, where he is also working towards a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Since August, 2024 Luca is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) through the Associate for Applied Sport Psychology. As part of his graduate training, Luca has worked with semi-professional, collegiate, and youth athletes from a variety of sports. Luca is also passionate about extending performance psychological services to non-sport performers, having worked with law students and other performers. Key aspects of Luca's consulting approach focus on fostering athlete autonomy and authenticity to cultivate a deeper, more meaningful connection to performance. Beyond addressing his clients' specific needs, he emphasizes mindful-acceptance strategies to enhance peak performance. A former Division I athlete, Luca remains passionate about staying active in his free time. He also enjoys traveling throughout Europe, visiting his home country of Germany, and exploring local food options.
